Jalapeno Popper Dip Featuring The Classic

This jalapeno popper dip features The Classic bringing the heat, the cheese, and the crowd — all wrapped in a crusty sourdough bowl. Loaded with creamy jalapeño goodness and featuring Jerry’s Faves “The Classic” rub, this is the kind of appetizer that makes people hover by the snack table and “accidentally” block others from getting in.

🔥 What You’ll Need

  • 1 large round sourdough loaf (the kind with a good crust and soft belly)

  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened

  • 4 Tbsp cup sour cream

  • 3/4 cup shredded cheddar cheese

  • 3/4 cup shredded mozzarella

  • 2-3 jalapeños, diced (leave the seeds in if you want to live dangerously)

  • 1/2 cup cooked bacon bits (optional, but come on, you know you want to)

  • 2-3 Tbsp Jerry’s Faves “The Classic” Rub

  • 2 green onions, chopped

🔧 Prep Work

  1. Hollow the Bowl:Slice the top off the sourdough loaf and scoop out the soft inside to make room for the dip. Save those bread chunks for dunking later — waste not, snack more.

  2. Preheat the Party:Fire up your oven (or smoker if you’re going for that smoky swagger) to 350°F.

  3. Mix the Magic:In a large bowl, combine cream cheese, sour cream, cheddar, mozzarella, diced jalapeños, bacon (if using), and The Classic rub. Stir until it looks like happiness in a bowl. Keep a bit of cheese, bacon and green onion to the side for extra toppings later.

  4. Load the Loaf:Spoon the mixture into your hollowed-out bread bowl. Sprinkle a bit of extra cheese on top because you can.

🔥 Cook It Up

  • In the Oven: Bake at 350°F for 25–30 minutes, until bubbly and golden. Once bubbly, broil for 5 minutes to get extra golden on top.

  • On the Smoker: 350–375°F indirect heat, same time frame, with a kiss of smoke for that backyard glory.

🍞 To Serve

Place the bread bowl on a platter surrounded by the torn bread chunks, crackers, or veggie sticks. Garnish with green onion and parsley. Then stand back and watch it disappear faster than free samples at a county fair.

💥 Pro Tip

Double the recipe if you’ve got a crew — this one’s a vanishing act. And don’t be afraid to hit the top with another dusting of The Classic right before serving for that extra punch of flavour.

Full Flavour. No extra sh*t.
